We’ve noticed lately that MicroStation is not being taught by any of the local career or community colleges. After inquiring why from some, it appears that they haven’t had any requests for MicroStation training! It seems that local AE firms haven’t contacted the schools for that feature, only local architecture firms wanting AutoCAD training.
Given that there was a lot of complaining by AE firm management not long ago about not being able to hire quality designers, it’s surprising that HR departments haven’t worked with these schools in order to create a stream of qualified graduates.
Likewise, one would think that Bentley would have a more aggressive education program. Not so. In some cases, the schools didn’t know who Bentley is! It would seem that in this area, Autodesk has a leg up in promoting its products.
